The Purpose of Art...

" The purpose of art is washing the dust of daily life off our souls." - Pablo Picasso  My mother introduced me to art at a young age. She enrolled me in pottery, oil painting, and sculpture classes. We attended museums and galleries. We would take hikes to beautiful vistas and she would pull out watercolors for me to paint what I saw. She had books of Norman Rockwell and Manet strewn across our living room coffee table. I remember finding a box of stunning oil paintings she had done years prior and I was in awe of her talent to be able to create something so beautiful. I am grateful for her appreciation of beauty and art. I feel lucky that she shared her talents and time with me and encouraged me to explore my own creativity.
